A Clinical Audit to Record and Monitor Cardiovascular Diseases 

SURF is an international clinical audit that aims to simplify the recording and management of cardiovascular risk factors in routine cardiology clinics for patients with established coronary heart disease. A welcome initiative by University Medical Centre Utrecht and Trinity College Dublin in collaboration with the European Society of Cardiology.

Prof. dr. Ian Graham

Prof. dr. Ian Graham is Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at Trinity College Dublin and an academic cardiologist. He is Secretary-Treasurer of the European Society of Cardiology.

His main research interests are in the natural history of coronary heart disease, cardiovascular disease prevention, defining the role of new risk markers and integrating them with the traditional CHD risk factors.

Professor Graham is project leader of the SCORE (Systematic Coronary Risk Evaluation) project that has developed the European Society of Cardiology risk charts and their on-line version, Heart Score. He chaired the ESC 4th Joint Guidelines on CHD Prevention in clinical practice and is an author of the 2012 and 2016 updates. He co-chaired the 2016 ESC/EAS Guidelines on the Management of Dyslipidemias. He is a Fellow of Trinity College Dublin, the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland and of the European Society of Cardiology.
